Assistant Events Manager

Reports to: Director of Event Operations


Overview:
PTG Live Events, LLC, more commonly known as The Pabst Theater Group, is a multi-faceted
entertainment organization that hosts over 600 live events annually across six venues in
downtown Milwaukee: Pabst Theater, Riverside Theater, Turner Hall Ballroom, Miller High Life
Theater, Vivarium, and The Fitzgerald. The Pabst Theater Group is dedicated to providing top
notch hospitality to world-class artists and patrons alike.


Responsibilities for this position include overseeing staff, working with artist touring
management, and organizing logistics in order to ensure proper execution of events. The ideal
candidate for this position will be an efficient communicator and leader with the energy and
professionalism to handle any situation our business inherently encounters. Event management
or operations experience is helpful, but is not a must for the position. Project management,
people management, and logistics experience preferred.


Hours for this position include a mix of traditional daytime office hours and nighttime show
hours.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Scheduling and supervision of Events Department employees
  • Complete assigned nightly artist settlements 
  • Manage onsite assigned nightly house staff and night of show operations
  • Manage nightly front of house setup and teardown
  • Manage onsite special event needs such as meet & greets, VIP receptions, merch, etc
  • Work directly with Director of Event Operations (DEO) to plan staffing needs once a week for day time office hours.
  • Implementation of training and development programs in coordination with DEO
  • Submit payroll based on a schedule that has been approved by DEO. 
  • Typical work week entails 3 event nights and 2 days with office hours. Hours subject to change based on event volume.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or greater in relevant field preferred
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient computer skills including Google docs, Microsoft Excel & Word
  • Knowledge and interest in popular culture and live entertainment
  • Other general qualities would include strong work ethic and ability to work in a collaborative environment

Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation for this position would be commensurate with other entry level salaries in the
industry and would also include health, dental and vision insurance benefits, participation in
company 401k program, participation in company bonus program.

Booking Assistant

Overview:

PTG Live Events, LLC, more commonly known as The Pabst Theater Group, is a multi-faceted entertainment organization that hosts over 600 live events annually across six venues in downtown Milwaukee: Pabst Theater, Riverside Theater, Turner Hall Ballroom, Miller High Life Theater, Vivarium, and The Fitzgerald. The Pabst Theater Group is dedicated to providing top notch hospitality to world-class artists and patrons alike.

The Pabst Theater Group is seeking an organized and professional individual with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Expectations of this role would be to assist the CEO, COO, and Talent Buyer with day to day operations. The ideal candidate for this position is a fast learner, has the ability to manage multiple tasks, works well as a team member, and has strong organizational skills. This is an entry level position.

Hours for this position would include a mix of traditional daytime office hours and nighttime show hours.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage and track show documents and show statuses.
  • Execution of administrative tasks for the booking department and executive team.
  • Assist in night of show settlements and event management.
  • Participation in research and discussion for artist bookings.
  • Manage and administer company calendars and documents.
  • Draft budgets for artist offers and events
  • Create and issue rental and co-promotion contracts
  • Regularly work with all departments to support efficiency and collaboration across the organization
  • Other responsibilities and duties, as assigned by management, to ensure the effective utilization of company resources and to ensure customer satisfaction

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • Proficient computer skills including Google Docs, Microsoft Excel & Word.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a range of people from different backgrounds
  • A work or extracurricular activity history that demonstrates pursuit of a career in the live entertainment and event management field.
  • Knowledge and interest in popular culture and live entertainment.
  • Other general qualities would include strong work ethic, ability to work autonomously and strong analytical skills.

Pabst Theater Staff Electrician / Concert Lighting Director

Overview:

The Pabst Theater Group, is a multi-faceted entertainment organization that hosts over 600 live events annually across six venues in downtown Milwaukee: Pabst Theater, Riverside Theater, Turner Hall Ballroom, Miller High Life Theatre, Vivarium, and The Fitzgerald. The Pabst Theater Group is dedicated to providing top notch hospitality to world-class artists and patrons alike.

A full-time position consisting of mostly evening hours on weekends. Present from start to finish for 90% of 150 shows a year at Pabst Theater. Maintain department assets, manage workflow, and maintain primary venue infrastructure, and follow show procedure.

Job Description:

The Employer shall employ a full time Staff Electrician who will be paid at a rate as directed in Article

IX.B.2 with increases as dictated in other sections of this agreement. The Staff Electrician will serve as Lighting Director or Head Electrician for all stage productions. The Staff Electrician shall maintain the skills and abilities, as well as to perform the duties, specifically stated in the Pabst Theater Staff Electrician’s Job Description which exists as a separate document from this contract. The Staff Electrician shall be employed and paid for a period of no less than forty (40) consecutive weeks between the first Monday in September and the third Monday in June, for each year of this agreement. The Staff Electrician shall be paid for all eight (8) holidays whether or not they fall during the term of his/her employment. The Staff Electrician shall be assigned and directed by the Technical Director and/or the Executive Director and have yearly performance reviews with the Technical Director and/or Executive Director. The Staff Electrician may work with, relieve, or work instead of the Technical Director or any other full time staff stagehand. From time to time, the Staff Electrician, when working in lieu of the Technical Director, may be asked to perform some of the duties of the Technical Director, such as scheduling crews, providing estimates and tallying payroll reports. When working in this capacity, the Electrician shall receive a higher rate of pay which applies to the classification for which they are working under, as stated in section VIII.H.8.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Large Scale lighting design and setup
  • Complex lighting operation control utilizing MA, ETC, High End, Martin, and Avoloites
  • Truss rigging and cable design and setup
  • Professional understanding of lighting components Source 4 lekos, Pars, Fresnel’s, CYC, LED, Moving Lights. Clearcom and Follow spots
  • Electrical knowledge of load balancing and distribution of large 3 phase power systems    Awareness of industry standard OSHA regulation, ANSI standards, and NEC.

Compensation and Benefits:

This is a union represented position. Union benefits include health and welfare and retirement. Salary Compensation, including hourly pay rate, is determined in collective bargaining.

Part-Time Positions

Security Guard

Overview:
The Pabst Theater Group (PTG Live Events LLC) in Milwaukee Wisconsin is seeking Part-Time Security Guard to provide and enhance security services during events for operation in its venues: The Pabst Theater, Riverside Theater, Turner Hall Ballroom, and Miller High Life Theatre.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Access control to both interior and exterior locations in all venues
  • Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment, and access points.
  • Investigates security breaches, incidents, and other alarming behavior.
  • Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities
  • Checking credentials and screening individuals entering venues
  • Assisting tours and production staff with parking and street management logistics
  • Assist Event Operations and Production teams with other duties as assigned

Street Team - Volunteer

Overview
PTG Live Events, LLC, more commonly known as The Pabst Theater Group, is a multi-faceted entertainment organization that hosts over 600 live events annually across five venues in downtown Milwaukee: Pabst Theater, Riverside Theater, Turner Hall Ballroom, Miller High Life Theatre and The Vivarium. The Pabst Theater Group is dedicated to providing top notch hospitality to world-class artists and patrons alike.Street Team members are responsible for distributing promotional materials (flyers/posters) at various locations, venues, and events around the Milwaukee area. This is an unpaid position based out of Downtown Milwaukee.

Position Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Pick up flyers at designated pickup location(s)
  • Distribute flyers at locations on designated route(s) and other areas as assigned
  • Take photos of flyers/posters at these designated locations
  • Capture cell phone videos at Pabst Theater Group shows

Qualifications:

  • Must have a reliable method of transportation
  • Must have a reliable smartphone with HD and/or 4K video capabilities (most phones within the past 3-5 years)
  • Must be eager to talk to people about live music/events and willing to approach and interact with people they may not know
  • Must be available for 2-3 hours each month (generally mid-month) to complete designated route during local business hours of operation
  • Proficient communication skills
  • Willing to travel to various parts of the Milwaukee area
  • Prior street team experience is preferred, but not required
  • Passion for live music, culture, and social media
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Compensation:
This is an unpaid volunteer position. However, if accepted onto the street team, you will have access to free tickets for shows at Riverside Theater, Pabst Theater, Miller High Life Theatre, Turner Hall Ballroom, and the Vivarium based on ticket availability
